At Parsley Berliner Döner Kebab, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose personal information through our website and our mobile apps, in accordance with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
Information we collect
- Account and contact details: your name, email address and phone number when you create an account, sign in (including with Apple or Google) or place an order.
- Orders and payments: the items you order, pickup times and order history. When you pay by card or save a card, your card details are handled by Stripe, Inc., our PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. We never see or store your full card number or security code; we keep only a secure token and the last four digits.
- Rewards: your points, tier and weekly order streak.
- Location (only if you allow it): used in the app to show how far you are from our store.
- The AI assistant (optional): see below.
- App activity: the items you view in the app, used to improve your experience.
- Catering requests: the name, phone number, email address and event details you send through our catering form, used to reply to you and plan your order.
The AI assistant, Sage
Sage is optional and asks for your permission before it sends any of your information to an AI service. When you use it, the messages you type or say (in voice mode, your voice audio), your first and last name, your reward points, your recent orders, the items in your cart and your selected store are sent through our servers to Google’s Gemini service so that it can reply and help with your order. In the video avatar mode, the conversation is also processed by Simli to show Sage’s talking face. You can withdraw your permission at any time in the app under Profile → AI data sharing.
How we use your information
To take and prepare your orders, process your payments, run Parsley Rewards, communicate with you about your orders, answer your questions and, if you agree, send you marketing communications.
Who we share it with
Service providers that help us run our services: Stripe (payments), Google (Gemini, for Sage, only after your consent), Simli (Sage’s video avatar, only after your consent), and our hosting, email and text-message providers. We may also disclose personal information if required by law. We do not sell your personal information.
Your choices
- You can update your details in the app under Profile → Personal Information.
- You can remove a saved card at any time under Profile → Payment Methods.
- You can turn off Sage’s data sharing under Profile → AI data sharing.
- You can ask us to delete your account and personal data in the app (Profile → Close Account) or at www.parsleydoner.ca/contact-us.
Security and retention
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your personal information. No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.
Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time and will post the updated policy on this page.
